Trükiplaatidele, also known as printed circuit boards (PCBs), are the backbone of modern electronics. They are rigid or flexible boards made from insulating material, typically fiberglass, onto which conductive pathways, called traces, are etched. These traces are usually made of copper and connect various electronic components like resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and connectors.

The process of creating a PCB involves several stages. First, a design is created using specialized software, specifying the layout of components and the routing of traces. This design is then transferred to a copper-clad substrate. Unwanted copper is removed through etching, leaving behind the desired conductive patterns. Holes are drilled to mount components, and a protective solder mask is applied to prevent accidental short circuits. Finally, a silkscreen layer may be added for component identification.

PCBs serve multiple crucial functions. They provide a mechanical foundation for mounting and connecting components, ensuring their physical stability. They also enable electrical connections between components, allowing signals and power to flow precisely as intended by the circuit design. Without PCBs, the intricate wiring of complex electronic devices would be impractical, unreliable, and bulky. They are essential in almost every electronic device, from simple calculators to sophisticated computers, smartphones, and industrial equipment.
