trollhassel
Trollhassel, scientifically known as Hamamelis virginiana, is a deciduous shrub native to eastern North America. It is commonly found in forests and along the edges of woodlands, preferring moist, well-drained soil and partial shade. The plant is most recognizable for its unusual blooming period, which occurs in late autumn or early winter, often after the leaves have fallen. The flowers are small and strap-like, typically yellow, and possess a distinct, sweet fragrance.
