Transportseras are integrated, cross-regional transport corridors intended to coordinate multi-modal travel and freight across long distances. They bring together roads, rail, waterways, air links, and digital infrastructure within a single planning framework to optimize connectivity and operations along linear routes.

The term is not universally standardized and is used primarily in planning discourse to describe corridor-based approaches that emphasize interoperability and data sharing.

Design features include intermodal terminals, dedicated freight and passenger lanes where feasible, electrification, multimodal hubs, and a common governance and data-sharing regime with standardized reporting and performance metrics.

Implementation often involves cross-jurisdictional agreements, long-term capital investment, and phased development in response to demand and environmental constraints. It aims to reduce travel times, increase reliability, lower emissions, and stimulate regional economies, but can raise concerns over land use, displacement, and privacy.

In academic and planning simulations, transportseras have been modeled in hypothetical regions such as Northland Arc and Riverine Corridor to study effects on throughput, emissions, and equity.
