tipolojik

Tipolojik is a Turkish adjective meaning related to typology or typological. It derives from tipoloji (typology) and the adjectival suffix -k/ik, and is used to describe classifications, methods, or features that organize things into types rather than through causal or evolutionary explanations. In Turkish-language scholarship, tipolojik terminology is common across disciplines to denote approaches that emphasize types and type-based comparisons.

In linguistics, tipolojik studies classify languages by structural features such as basic word order (for example SVO vs SOV), morphological alignment (nominative–accusative vs ergative), and the inventory of affixes. Such work seeks cross-linguistic generalizations and typological universals, focusing on patterns that recur across languages rather than on language-specific histories.

In archaeology and anthropology, tipolojik approaches group artifacts or cultural traits into types based on form, technique, and function. In biology and the history of science, typology historically referred to the classification of organisms by characteristic forms or type specimens.
