Teeltbed is a cultivation bed used in horticulture, particularly in greenhouse production, where crops are grown on a prepared surface that is raised or level. The bed is typically filled with soil or an inert substrate and equipped with drainage, and often with irrigation and fertigation systems integrated into or beneath the bed. Teeltbed can be realized as a soil-based bed or as a bed on a substrate such as rockwool, coco coir, or compost-rich media. The construction usually includes a frame made of wood, concrete, or metal, a drainage layer, and sometimes a barrier to separate the bed from the underpinning ground.

In greenhouse cultivation, teeltbed supports controlled rooting conditions, drainage, temperature management, and efficient water and nutrient delivery. It enables uniform crop growth, easier mechanization, weed control, and crop rotation. Crops commonly grown on teeltbeds include tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, lettuce, herbs, and various ornamental plants.

Maintenance involves monitoring and adjusting soil or substrate conditions (pH, electrical conductivity), delivering water and nutrients through fertigation, and periodically replacing or rejuvenating the substrate. Sanitation between cycles reduces disease risk. Environmental considerations include water-use efficiency, nutrient leaching, and the disposal or reuse of substrates.
