Takistusmõõtmine, also known as resistance measurement, is a fundamental technique in electrical engineering and electronics used to determine the electrical resistance of a component or circuit. Resistance is a measure of how much a material opposes the flow of electric current. Measuring resistance is crucial for diagnosing faulty components, verifying circuit integrity, and calibrating electronic devices.

The most common method for measuring resistance is by using an ohmmeter, which is often integrated into a multimeter. An ohmmeter applies a known voltage across the component being tested and measures the resulting current. Using Ohm's Law (V = I * R, where V is voltage, I is current, and R is resistance), the device calculates and displays the resistance value. It is important to ensure that the component being measured is not powered, as this can damage the ohmmeter and provide inaccurate readings.

Other methods exist for more specialized applications. For instance, the Wheatstone bridge is a circuit that allows for very precise resistance measurements. It works by balancing two legs of a bridge circuit, one with an unknown resistance and the other with known resistances. When the bridge is balanced, the unknown resistance can be determined from the known values. Techniques like four-wire resistance measurement (Kelvin sensing) are used to eliminate the influence of lead and contact resistance, which is particularly important for measuring very low resistances. Accurate resistance measurements are vital for a wide range of applications, from simple circuit troubleshooting to advanced material science research.
