Sundhedsprogram is a term used in Danish and Norwegian to describe a coordinated set of activities, policies, and services intended to improve the health of a population. Typically administered by government health authorities, regional authorities, and municipalities, sundhedsprograms aim to prevent disease, promote healthy lifestyles, detect illness early, and ensure timely access to care. Programs are designed around clear objectives, target populations, and measurable outcomes, with funding and governance that span multiple sectors such as primary care, public health, and social services.

Key elements include: defined scope and target population; evidence-based guidelines; service delivery arrangements (screenings, vaccinations, counseling, rehabilitation); information systems and data collection for monitoring; financing mechanisms; and governance structures with oversight and accountability.

Common examples include vaccination campaigns; screening programs for cancer and other diseases; maternal and child health initiatives; chronic disease management and care coordination; smoking cessation, alcohol and substance abuse prevention; nutrition and physical activity promotion; and mental health promotion.

Implementation often follows a cycle of planning, pilot testing, scaling, and evaluation.
