Strategijas is the plural form of strategija, a plan or method devised to achieve an overarching objective, especially over the long term. In Latvian usage, strategijas may refer to plans formed by governments, firms, teams, or individuals. The concept is cross-domain, including military strategy, business strategy, political strategy, sports strategy, and personal development strategies.

Common components include setting aims, analyzing the external environment and internal capabilities, identifying options, selecting actions, allocating resources, implementing, and monitoring outcomes. Tools and frameworks such as SWOT analysis, PESTEL, Porter’s five forces, and scenario planning help structure strategic thinking, while strategic frameworks may differ by field.

Types include corporate strategy (organization-wide direction and resource allocation), business strategy (competitive positioning within a market), operational or functional strategies (how to deliver on strategic goals), growth strategy (expansion, acquisitions), and marketing, innovation, or digital strategies tailored to specific domains.

Because environments change, strategies require ongoing review and adjustment. Strategic management emphasizes alignment between an organization’s mission, its capabilities, and its external opportunities and threats. Metrics and feedback loops evaluate progress and inform revisions.
