Most stayups are made from blends of nylon and elastane, offering a range of sheerness, opacity, and stretch. The top band may feature decorative lace, a plain finish, or other edging. Variants include sheer, opaque, and patterned textures such as fishnet or ribbed designs, as well as reinforced toe or heel sections for durability. They are marketed in various lengths and sizes to fit different leg shapes, and may be sold as regular, control-top, or fashion-focused options.

How they work: The silicone or rubber grip at the top provides retention by adhering to dry skin. Effectiveness can be influenced by skin conditions, moisture, and activity. Some users prefer to wear stayups with a garter belt for added security in high-movement situations.

Care and handling: To prolong life, wash stayups gently by hand or on a delicate cycle in cold water, using a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softeners, which can degrade silicone. Air dry away from direct heat. Store flat or rolled to prevent creasing and maintain the elastic band’s shape.
