Standarddrivning is a Swedish term that can be translated as “standard drive” or “standard driveline.” In engineering and industry contexts, the concept denotes the conventional or baseline drive system used for propulsion and power transmission in a machine, vehicle, or equipment. The term is employed to distinguish the typical, widely adopted configuration from specialized, optional, or future-oriented drive solutions.

In automotive engineering, standarddrivning refers to the baseline drivetrain arrangement that defines how power from the engine or motor is transmitted to the wheels. This includes determinations of drive topology (front-, rear-, or all-wheel drive), transmission type, and primary powertrain components. In machinery and industrial equipment, standarddrivning covers the usual drive train for motors, belts, gears, and control systems that ensure reliable operation and interoperability across components and suppliers.
