Staționare, sometimes written staionare, is a term used in Romanian as a noun and, less commonly, in verb form a staționa. It denotes the act of stopping or remaining in a place, and it can apply to people, vehicles, or equipment. The word derives from Latin statio, through Romance languages, and conveys the idea of a fixed place or position.

In traffic and road use, staționare refers to the act of stopping a vehicle in a location for a period of time. This may be for loading and unloading, waiting, or other brief stops. Regulations usually specify where staționarea is allowed, for how long, and under what conditions. Signs and road-markings commonly indicate zones of staționare, along with penalties for violations. In many jurisdictions, staționarea in prohibited areas or beyond a permitted duration is forbidden.

There is a conceptual distinction between staționare and parcare. Parcare generally implies leaving the vehicle parked and unattended for longer, while staționare covers short stops and standing in a temporary manner. Owing to this nuance, local traffic rules may use different terms or definitions for similar situations, such as oprire (a stop) versus staționare y parcare (parking).

Beyond traffic, staționare is used in military and organizational contexts to describe the deployment or stationing of troops or assets to a fixed location. In logistics and industry, it can refer to goods or equipment that remain stationary in a warehouse or terminal.
