Sporttouring, also called sport touring, describes a motorcycle category that aims to combine the performance characteristics of sport bikes with the comfort and practicality of touring machines. The riding position tends toward upright or slightly forward-leaning, with wind protection and the capacity to carry luggage, allowing long-distance riding without sacrificing dynamic capability.

Typical sport-tourers feature a powerful engine with broad, usable torque, adjustable or semi-active suspension, strong braking, and electronic aids such as ABS and traction control. They usually have a larger, adjustable windscreen, comfortable seating for rider and passenger, and integrated luggage options or mounting points for panniers, along with conveniences such as heated grips and cruise control.

The category emerged in the late 1980s and 1990s as manufacturers sought a middle ground between pure sport bikes and dedicated tourers. Early models established the template of sport performance with touring ergonomics, which has advanced through the integration of advanced electronics, better wind protection, and more versatile chassis. In recent years the line between sport-tourers and adventure-touring has grown blurrier as models adopt off-road capable styling and multi-terrain ergonomics.

Sporttouring remains popular among riders who want sustained high-speed capability combined with the ability to ride long distances in comfort, sometimes with a passenger. The segment is strongest in Europe and North America, and includes models from brands such as BMW, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and Ducati, among others. Some manufacturers market specific sport-tourer models, while others offer sportier variants on touring or sport platforms.
