Sisenditeväljundid, often abbreviated as I/O, refers to the communication between an information processing system, such as a computer, and the outside world. This outside world can be a human user, or another information processing system. Input devices are used to provide data and control signals to the system, while output devices display or present the results of the system's processing.

Common input devices include keyboards, mice, touchscreens, microphones, and scanners. These devices convert physical actions or phenomena into electrical signals that the computer can understand. For example, pressing a key on a keyboard sends a specific signal representing that character.

Output devices, on the other hand, take the processed data from the system and present it in a human-readable or usable form. Examples of output devices are monitors, printers, speakers, and projectors. A monitor displays visual information, while speakers produce sound.

The process of input and output is fundamental to the operation of any computing device. Without I/O, a computer would be unable to receive instructions or convey its results, rendering it useless for practical purposes. Modern systems often employ complex I/O controllers and interfaces to manage the flow of data efficiently between the central processing unit and various peripheral devices.
