Seker is an ancient Egyptian deity associated with the sun, healing, and destruction. Often depicted as a hawk-headed figure or a man with a hawk’s head wearing the solar disk, Seker was particularly revered in the city of Memphis, where he was worshipped alongside other major gods such as Ptah and Nefertem. His name is believed to derive from the word for "power" or "strength," reflecting his role in both life-sustaining and destructive cosmic forces.

In Egyptian mythology, Seker played a crucial role in the afterlife, overseeing the journey of the sun god Ra through the underworld during the night. He was considered one of the three gods who guided Ra’s solar bark, alongside Duamutef and Kebechet, ensuring the sun’s safe passage and renewal.
