seduto
Seduto is an Italian term that functions primarily as the masculine singular past participle of the verb sedere (to sit) and as an adjective meaning seated or sitting. It describes a person or animal in a position of having sat down. It is used with the auxiliary essere in perfect tenses, for example è seduto, and it agrees in gender and number with the subject: la ragazza è seduta, i ragazzi sono seduti. The feminine form is seduta, the plural masculine seduti, and the plural feminine sedute.
Seduto derives from the Latin verb sedere, through the development of Italian past participles for -ere verbs.
In Italian, seduto is commonly used to describe someone or something already in a seated position. The
- Il ragazzo è seduto sulla sedia. (The boy is seated on the chair.)
