Seadusandjate is the Estonian term for lawmakers, the individuals or bodies responsible for creating and shaping the law. The word is the genitive plural form of seadusandja, meaning a person who makes laws, and is commonly used in legal and political texts to refer to lawmakers as a group, or to denote the role of lawmakers within a system of government.

In most constitutional systems, seadusandjate form the legislative branch and are tasked with drafting, debating, amending, and finally passing laws. They also oversee the actions of the executive branch, approve the budget, and may ratify international treaties or constitutional amendments. Lawmaking typically occurs through a formal process that includes introduction of a bill, committee review, one or more readings, possible amendments, and a vote. Depending on the system, laws may require promulgation or signature by a head of state or another constitutional authority before entering into force.

The composition and powers of seadusandjate vary by country. In Estonia, for example, the Riigikogu is the primary lawmaking body, composed of elected members who initiate and revise legislation, while the president signs laws into force and the government administers their implementation.
