Süntesaatorid, commonly known as synthesizers, are electronic musical instruments that produce a wide range of sounds through various methods of signal generation and manipulation. Unlike acoustic instruments that rely on physical vibrations, synthesizers create sounds electronically. This allows for a vast sonic palette, from imitations of existing instruments to entirely new and otherworldly textures.

The core of a synthesizer lies in its ability to generate and shape audio signals. Early synthesizers often used analog circuits, where voltages were manipulated to create waveforms like sine, square, saw, and triangle waves. These waveforms are the building blocks of sound. These include subtractive synthesis (removing frequencies from a basic waveform), additive synthesis (combining multiple sine waves), FM synthesis (frequency modulation), and wavetable synthesis (using pre-recorded digital waveforms).

Synthesizers are integral to many genres of music, including electronic dance music, pop, rock, and film scores. They can be played via keyboards, sequencers, or computer software, offering musicians immense creative freedom in sound design and composition.
