ringkonnakohus
Ringkonnakohus, translated as Court of Appeal, is an intermediate appellate court in the Estonian judiciary. It serves as the second instance in the general jurisdiction, reviewing decisions made by county courts (maakohus) in civil and criminal matters and certain other determinations as defined by law. The ringkonnakohus ensures that legal and procedural errors identified in lower courts can be corrected before a final resolution is reached.
The court is organized into several circuits with premises in major cities, including Tallinn, Tartu, and Pärnu.
