Letterpress printing is another common form of relief printing, primarily used for printing text and graphics in books, newspapers, and packaging. In letterpress, individual metal type or raised blocks are arranged to form the desired text or image. The inked type is then pressed onto paper, creating a distinct impression. Modern letterpress often uses digital cutting tools to create custom plates from materials like rubber or plastic.

Relief printing remains popular for its unique aesthetic and tactile qualities, though it has largely been replaced by offset and digital printing in commercial applications. However, it continues to be used in fine art, bookmaking, and specialty printing for its ability to produce rich, textured results.
