Rekrutimi, or recruitment, is the process by which organizations identify, attract, evaluate, and select candidates for employment or other roles. Its aim is to fill vacancies with individuals who meet the job requirements while aligning with the organization’s values and long-term needs, balancing speed, cost, and quality.

The recruitment process typically includes several stages: planning and job analysis to define role requirements; sourcing and attraction through internal promotions, referrals, job postings, recruitment agencies, campus drives, and online platforms; screening and shortlisting via resume reviews and initial contacts; assessment and selection using interviews, tests, work samples, and sometimes assessment centers; and onboarding to integrate new hires.

Recruitment can be internal, offering opportunities to current employees, or external, seeking candidates outside the organization. It can also be proactive, with employer branding and talent pipelining, or reactive, responding to vacancies as they arise. Technology plays a growing role, with applicant tracking systems, employer branding, and social media used to identify and engage candidates.

Key metrics used to evaluate recruitment include time-to-fill, cost per hire, quality of hire, offer acceptance rate, and diversity of applicants. Legal and ethical considerations cover equal employment opportunity, non-discrimination, privacy and data protection, and fair selection practices.
