Realiseation encompasses the full lifecycle from ideation to deployment, including idea refinement, resource allocation, prototyping, testing, integration, and evaluation. It foregrounds the interaction between theoretical concepts and practical execution, as well as the feedback loops that refine both the product or system and the underlying understanding.

Contexts vary in their emphasis. In software development, realiseation may denote moving from design specifications to a functioning system. In organizational or strategic work, it can refer to implementing plans and measuring impact. In design disciplines or cognitive science, it can describe materializing conceptual analyses into artifacts, experiences, or interventions.

Methods commonly associated with realiseation include iterative approaches such as agile and design thinking, rapid prototyping, pilot programs, and performance metrics. Documentation such as roadmaps, user feedback, and post-implementation reviews are often used to guide and assess the process.
