Rafkauterization is a coined term used in speculative science to describe a hypothetical process in which a localized, rapid cauterization occurs at a material interface, producing sealing or modification of the surface without conventional suturing or thermal damage to surrounding tissue.

The word combines a fictional root raf- with kauterization, the latter being the standard term for tissue searing. The concept has appeared in theoretical discussions and some science fiction contexts as a means of achieving rapid, minimally invasive adhesion.

In proposed models, rafkauterization could arise from an ultrafast energy release at the interface, such as a transient electrical pulse or photon-driven reaction, which induces controlled coagulation and bonding.
