Projeksjonsmessige is a Norwegian adjective describing something related to projection, especially in mathematical contexts. The term derives from the concept of a projection, a map or operation that relates objects to a subspace or a lower-dimensional representation.

In linear algebra, a projection is a linear transformation P from a vector space V to itself that satisfies P2 = P. The image Im(P) is a subspace of V, and the kernel Ker(P) is a complementary subspace such that V = Im(P) ⊕ Ker(P). A projection is determined by choosing a subspace to project onto and, in the case of oblique projections, a direction along which points are moved. A common special case is the orthogonal projection, where P is self-adjoint with respect to the inner product, projecting vectors perpendicularly onto a subspace.

Projeksjonsmessige properties or statements are those that pertain to such projection processes or to objects preserved under projection. For example, the geometry of a figure under projection, the behavior of a projection operator, or the description of a subspace obtained by projecting a higher-dimensional space onto a lower-dimensional one.

Applications of projection concepts are widespread: in geometry and visualization (reducing dimensions for display), in computer graphics (mapping 3D scenes to 2D), and in data analysis (dimensionality reduction and PCA use projection onto subspaces).
