pppoeconf

pppoeconf is a command-line utility found on Debian-based Linux distributions used for configuring Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) connections. PPPoE is a network protocol used to establish a direct connection between a user's computer and an Internet Service Provider (ISP) over an Ethernet link. This is commonly used for DSL internet connections.

When a user runs pppoeconf, it typically scans the network interfaces for a PPPoE-compatible modem or router. It then guides the user through a series of prompts to gather the necessary information for establishing the connection. This usually includes the username and password provided by the ISP.
