Posilovae are a class of modular energy storage devices designed to provide high-power bursts and energy buffering in compact systems such as drones, robotics, and aerospace.

Each posilova comprises modular pods containing electrochemical cells, thermal management, and safety sub-systems; standardized mechanical and electrical interfaces allow rapid reconfiguration and easy scalability for different load demands.

The concept emerged in the early 2020s in engineering literature and industry pilots, with the term posilovae appearing in white papers by research groups and cross-industry consortia. Commercialization followed in the latter part of the decade as module interoperability and safety standards matured.

Compared with traditional batteries, posilovae emphasize quick charge/discharge, scalable energy, high cycle life, and integrated power management; they operate across a wide temperature range and support hot-swapping of individual modules to minimize downtime.

Applications span unmanned aerial vehicles, mobile robotics, electric aircraft, and space systems. The modular design offers resilience through redundant pathways and easier upgrades, while higher per-unit cost, greater system complexity, and the need for advanced battery management and safety protocols are ongoing considerations for adoption.
