This behavior can manifest in various social settings and is typically viewed negatively, as it can alienate others and be perceived as a sign of insecurity or arrogance.

The roots of pomposity can be complex. Some psychologists suggest it may stem from a deep-seated need for validation or a fear of being perceived as inadequate.
