Applications under investigation include automotive interiors and exterior components, durable coatings, packaging films, and adhesive systems. While laboratory studies show potential, commercial adoption is limited by lignin variability, processability, and cost considerations. Ongoing work focuses on standardizing lignin feedstocks and improving compatibility with polyamide matrices.

Assessments emphasize trade-offs between renewable content, end-of-life options, and performance, highlighting the need for further optimization and life-cycle analyses before widespread commercialization.
