Picture processing, also known as image processing, is a method of digital signal processing in which a digital image is subjected to a series of operations to obtain an enhanced image or to extract some useful information from it. It is a type of signal processing for which the input is an image, such as a photograph or video frame, and the output may be either an image or a set of characteristics or parameters related to the image.
The primary goals of picture processing include image enhancement, image restoration, image compression, and image analysis.
Picture processing techniques are widely used in various fields, including computer vision, medical imaging, remote sensing,
