A personifier is a person or thing that personifies—i.e., attributes human qualities to non-human entities—or a device or character designed to embody human traits. In rhetoric, the act of ascribing human characteristics to non-human things is called personification, and a personifier is any agent (speaker, character, or medium) that performs or represents that attribution.

In literature and art, personifications are common as characters who embody abstract concepts or forces of nature, such as Liberty or Death. These figures help convey ideas by giving them recognizable form and agency, making complex concepts more accessible or memorable.

In modern usage, the concept extends to branding and technology. A brand may create a persona or mascot to personify its values, while user interfaces and AI agents rely on a defined persona—speech style, tone, and behavior—to facilitate interaction and trust. In this sense, a personifier can be a fictional character, a brand avatar, or an AI assistant that acts as the human-like face of a system.
