Pebblegrain, or pebble grain leather, is a textured leather surface characterized by a pattern of small, rounded bumps. The texture is produced by embossing or by selecting hides with a natural pebble grain, and it is applied to top-grain or corrected-grain leathers.

In manufacture, a base leather is embossed with a pebble pattern, then finished with coatings to enhance durability and water resistance. The size and density of the pebbles can vary, yielding different looks from fine to coarse.

Pebblegrain leather is common in fashion goods such as handbags, wallets, belts, and shoes, as well as in upholstery and car interiors. The texture helps disguise scuffs and scratches compared with smooth leather.

Care is similar to other finishes: wipe with a soft cloth, avoid harsh solvents, and condition as recommended. Store away from direct heat and sunlight to preserve suppleness and color.

Because the finish relies on embossing rather than the natural grain, pebblegrain leather is typically more uniform in appearance and can be more affordable than undyed or highly finished natural grains, though prices vary by tannery and quality of the base leather.
