Parkimismaju is the Estonian term for parking houses, commonly referred to in English as parking garages. It denotes facilities designed to provide vehicle parking spaces, which can be underground, at ground level, or on multiple levels. Parkimismaja can be standalone structures or integrated into mixed-use developments near city centers, transit hubs, or shopping districts. The word combines parkimine (parking) with maja (house). In everyday usage, parkimismaja refers to a single facility, while the plural nominative form is parkimismajad and the partitive/genitive plural form is parkimismaju.

Design and operation: Parkimismajad vary in size from small lots to large multi-storey garages housing hundreds or thousands of spaces. Typical features include multiple levels, entry and exit ramps, payment options (kiosks, card or mobile payments), security lighting, and surveillance. Modern facilities increasingly offer electric vehicle charging points, dynamic pricing, and real-time space availability indicators. Some parkimismajad are integrated with public transportation hubs to support intermodal travel.

Context and regulation: In Estonian urban planning and policy, parkimismajad are addressed through zoning rules, building standards, and municipal parking policies. They are used to manage street parking demand, improve land-use efficiency, and support access to urban amenities while aiming to minimize traffic congestion and environmental impact.
