Pahlavan is a term originating from Persian culture that denotes a hero, champion, or a person of great strength and virtue. In traditional Persian society, a pahlavan was often a figure of respect and admiration, embodying ideal masculine qualities.

The concept of the pahlavan is deeply ingrained in Persian literature and folklore, most notably in the Shahnameh, the epic poem by Ferdowsi.
