oppisuunti
Oppisuunti is a term used in Finnish vocational education and training to describe the direction or trajectory of an apprenticeship program. It refers to how a student will acquire competences through a combination of on-the-job training in a workplace and theoretical studies provided by an educational institution. The oppisuunti is defined in the individual learning plan (oppimissuunnitelma) prepared together by the student, the employer, and the school, and it guides the selection of work tasks, study modules, and the pace of progression.
The oppisuunti aims to ensure that training aligns with the requirements of the relevant vocational qualification
A trainee’s oppisuunti may emphasize different areas depending on the field. For example, in the construction
The oppisuunti is implemented within the oppisopimuskoulutus framework and is aligned with the national vocational qualifications
