Oorsuwing is a medical term referring to a ringing or buzzing sensation perceived in one or both ears or in the head. It is not a disease in itself but rather a symptom of an underlying condition. The sound experienced can vary greatly in pitch and intensity, and it may be constant or intermittent.

There are numerous potential causes for oorsuwing. Exposure to loud noise, whether a single intense event or prolonged exposure over time, is a very common trigger. Age-related hearing loss, known as presbycusis, can also lead to the development of oorsuwing.
