Näytönlajikkeita, often translated as screen varieties or display types, refers to the different technologies used to create images on electronic displays such as televisions, computer monitors, and smartphones. These technologies determine the display's performance characteristics, including its color reproduction, contrast, brightness, viewing angles, and refresh rate.

The most common types of display technologies include Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED). LCD technology utilizes a backlight that shines through liquid crystals, which then modulate the light to create the image. Various sub-types of LCD exist, such as Twisted Nematic (TN), In-Plane Switching (IPS), and Vertical Alignment (VA), each offering different trade-offs in terms of response time, color accuracy, and viewing angles.

OLED technology, on the other hand, uses organic compounds that emit light when an electric current is applied.
