Näyttötiloihin is a Finnish term used to describe the different display modes available on devices such as monitors, laptops, televisions and smartphones. A display mode, or näyttötila, refers to a preset configuration of rendering characteristics that influence brightness, contrast, gamma, color temperature and color space. These presets are designed to optimize readability, color fidelity or media experience under varying conditions.

Common display modes include Standard or Normal for general use, Reading or Low Blue Light to reduce eye strain, Night mode for warmer tones in low light, and Cinema or Movie mode for video playback with adjusted color temperature. For color-critical work, sRGB, Adobe RGB or DCI-P3 modes may be provided to target specific color spaces. Some devices also offer Gaming mode, which can reduce input lag and modify post-processing, or Outdoor mode, which boosts brightness for bright environments. Color management often involves selecting a color space (for example sRGB or DCI-P3) and adjusting white point and gamma settings.

Access to näyttötiloihin is typically through the device’s on-screen display (OSD) menu, control panel, or quick-access shortcuts. On laptops and smartphones, modes may be tied to power profiles or automatic scene detection.
