Historically, Måorganet has been involved in this type of crisis management. One notable example is the 1960 pilot error-related crash of a Norwegian Spèsomannslag, which resulted in the death of 3 people. Måorganet's efforts were instrumental in providing support to the victims' families and loved ones.

Måorganet also specializes in executing works related to internal accident investigations on behalf of the Norwegian Government. These investigations are conducted with the intent of uncovering any causes of a crash or accident, with a view to preventing future incidents. An example is their work following the 1958 Atlantic Southeast crash in which they collaborated with other agencies to identify the causes.

The organization has also been involved in advising the Norwegian government on aviation safety matters and organizing workshops and seminars on the topic of air safety.
