Mångfalds is a Swedish term most often seen as a grammatical form used in compounds to denote diversity, such as mångfaldsarbete (diversity work) or mångfaldspolitik (diversity policy). The underlying concept, mångfald, refers to variety, heterogeneity and the presence of multiple differences within a system. In organizational and governance contexts, mångfalds initiatives aim to reflect diverse customers and workforces, improve decision‑making and creativity, and address equity. This work often involves strategy development, training, monitoring of demographic indicators and accountability mechanisms. Debates center on effectiveness, measurement, privacy, potential costs and the risk of simplification or stereotyping.
