Multiplebit is a term used in digital computing to describe data or signals represented using more than one bit per symbol. In general, the concept encompasses any encoding, storage, or transmission scheme that uses multi-bit units instead of a single bit. The term does not denote a single standardized specification; rather, it appears in various contexts where the bit width of data is a key consideration.

In encoding and modulation, multiple-bit per symbol schemes such as quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) or phase-shift keying with multiple bits per symbol achieve higher data rates by conveying several bits in each signaling interval. In memory and data paths, “multiple-bit” often refers to word sizes or buses (for example, 8-bit, 16-bit, or 32-bit) that carry several bits in parallel. In coding theory and error correction, multi-bit error-correcting codes can detect and correct more than one bit error within a given block.

Some projects or products may adopt the name Multiplebit as branding, but this is incidental and not indicative of a single official standard.
