Manageability is the degree to which a system, component, or process can be effectively managed throughout its lifecycle. It covers configuring, monitoring, controlling, diagnosing, updating, scaling, securing, and decommissioning assets with predictable effort and low risk.

In IT, software, and systems administration, manageability is enhanced by instrumentation, observability, and automation. Core capabilities include centralized configuration, remote administration, patching, backups, policy enforcement, and meaningful monitoring and alerting.
