Magaineita is the Finnish plural form used to refer to magazines, i.e., periodical publications. In everyday Finnish, magazines are more commonly called aikakauslehdet or lehdet, and magaineita appears mainly when the English loanword magazine is used directly within Finnish text. The term covers a range of publication types, including consumer magazines aimed at general audiences, trade magazines for specific industries, and scientific or professional journals that publish scholarly content.

Historically, magazines emerged in Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries and evolved into mass-market titles in the 19th and 20th centuries.
