Lågnivåprotokollen, often translated as "low-level protocol," refers to a set of rules and specifications that govern how data is transmitted and received at the most fundamental layers of a communication network. These protocols operate very close to the physical hardware, dictating the precise electrical signals, timing, and physical addressing schemes required for devices to communicate directly. Unlike high-level protocols which deal with the content and meaning of the data, lågnivåprotokollen focus solely on the mechanics of getting bits from one point to another.
