Läpireikään is a Finnish term that translates to "through-hole" in English. It refers to a type of mounting technology for electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs). In läpireikään technology, the leads of the component are inserted through holes drilled in the PCB and then soldered to the copper pads on the opposite side. This contrasts with surface-mount technology (SMT), where components are attached directly to the surface of the PCB without passing through holes.
