Luxniveau is a Dutch term that combines lux and niveau (level) and refers to the level of illuminance in an interior or exterior space. It describes how bright a surface or area appears to the human eye and is typically expressed in lux, the SI unit for illuminance.

Measurement is done with a calibrated lux meter under specified conditions.
