Lokasyon, a term in Indonesian, Malay and Filipino languages derived from English location via loanwords, denotes the position or area where something exists or occurs. In geographic and mapping contexts, lokasyon can refer to the exact place of a feature on the earth or within a defined area, expressed as coordinates, a boundary, or an administrative region. The concept encompasses both the physical point and the surrounding context that affects access, environment, and use.

Absolute location identifies a precise point, usually given by latitude and longitude or a map grid. Relative location describes where something is located in relation to other places, landmarks, or regions. Functional location describes the role of a place within a system, such as a logistics hub or a service area.

Geolocation refers to determining lokasyon with digital tools, including GPS, IP-based positioning, or geocoding of addresses. In practical use, lokasyon affects planning, property valuation, disaster risk assessment, transportation, and market analysis.
