Linegeneration refers to the process of creating lines or line-based representations in digital and physical media. The term is used across several fields to describe the generation of line data that defines shapes, features, or trends. It covers both the production of new line primitives and the conversion of other data into line form.

In computer graphics, line generation involves turning vector descriptions into line primitives and then rasterizing those lines into pixel data. Classic algorithms for line generation include rasterization methods that determine which pixels best represent a line between two points.
