Liedtekst is the textual content of a song, the words that are sung. In Dutch and Norwegian usage the term refers to the complete worded lyrics, separate from the musical notation. The liedtekst can be analyzed for themes, meter, rhyme, and imagery and is often published together with the music in liner notes or on lyric sheets.
