Laserrun, or Laser Run, is a sport that combines running with precision shooting using a laser pistol. It is practiced as part of modern pentathlon and also as a standalone discipline. In a typical Laser Run, competitors complete a running course interspersed with shooting bouts. During each shooting bout, athletes aim at five targets with a sport-specific laser pistol; a hit is registered by an electronic sensor in the target. Missed targets may incur a penalty, such as an extra distance to run or time penalties, depending on the competition format.
