Laadbeurt is a Dutch term used to describe a charging session for a rechargeable battery, most commonly an electric vehicle (EV). It refers to the period during which a vehicle is connected to a charger and energy is transferred from the electrical grid to the battery. A laadbeurt is typically defined by the start time, end time, the amount of energy delivered (in kilowatt-hours, kWh), the duration, and the cost incurred according to the applicable tariff and charging-network rules.

In public charging networks, a laadbeurt is registered by the charging point and linked to the user through an account, a mobile app, or an RFID card. The data from the session is used for billing, usage statistics, and sometimes for service improvements. The term is also used for home charging, where a single laadbeurt occurs when a vehicle is connected to a private charger.

Charging can take place at different power levels. AC charging at home or workplaces generally presents lower power levels, while DC fast charging stations can deliver high power to shorten recharge times. The energy delivered during a laadbeurt is expressed in kWh, while the duration depends on the battery state, charger power, and any charging limits of the vehicle.

Costs for a laadbeurt vary by network and location. Tariffs may be per kWh, per minute, or a combination, and some networks apply a fixed connection or access fee.
