Kwanica is a fictional nation created for worldbuilding, fiction, and educational exercises. It is described as an archipelagic republic located in a tropical-to-temperate transition zone, comprising about three dozen islands with diverse ecosystems, from mangrove coastlines to volcanic highlands. The capital and largest city is Kairo; the principal seaport is Lumen. The population is multiethnic, with Kwanic as the official language and English widely used in government and commerce.

Historically, Kwanica emerged from a regional maritime confederation in the 17th century and achieved full independence in 1842 after a period of colonial rule.
